Astrogurl is a music video produced in 2014 as
a university screen major project. Astrogurl was
directed and produced by Michelle and was a finalist in
the 2015 Byron All Shorts.
Astrogurl. was inspired by the experimental era of 1980s music video. The aim was to create an 80s style music video that combined satirical miming performance and a love story narrative.
Art and Identity
Michelle is currently exploring and creating a large body of work that focuses on the concept of self-mythologising
and the construction and exploration of identity.
The Romantic heroine was constructed by creating elaborate costumes and props and then recording the digital imagery. The images have been used for identity-as-performance for a project focused on identity and communication in the digital landscape of Web 2.0. The work is ongoing and involves research, creative writing, and the creation of tangible archives from digital communications..
Digital Art and Design
Ongoing experiments with digital art and design software including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Projects shown above have been created for university design major projects.
Some of the work is still under development for use in larger projects. See more
